SIR,—Countless numbers of his ,late Majesty's subjects shared your keen

sense of disappointment about the B.B.C. Memorial Service. It was most unfair to the Archbishop of York that he was not permitted to begin his address until the service had been going on for fifty-two minutes. A village church would not have made such a mess of timing. The musical parts were overdone and failed to touch the feelings of
