But your readers should know that the Sun, " . . . the home of political punditry", did not get it wrong.
The headline 'Heath gets new boost' was a strictly accurate representation of the story beneath it, which concerned a report that Mr Heath was favourite in the constituencies.
The Sun had been at considerable pains to point out, long before Mr Grundy, that the people with the votes were at Westminster.
