Mr. J. Murray Gibbon, one of the best - known figures in

the litecrary life of Canada, has selected and !translated a series of Canadian Folksongs- (Dent. Os.). The thirty songs chosen are not confined to the chansons that came from Old France. We have also the lays of the Habitant as he paddled his canoe in the backwoods, and a selection of modern songs RS well. Anyone who has heard the French Canadians sing on St. Catherine's Eve will enjoy these selections.
