Financial Notes
NEW CAPITAL ACTIVITY.' . - DEALINGS in the Stock -Markets during the month of June have been of a more restricted character than had been anticipated. Apart from South African Gold Mining shares, which have remained very firm until the last few days, the tone in most departments has been of a hesitant character. Industrial Shares have been affected by a good deal of profit taking. Prices have been raised to a very high level, while
Home Railways have been adversely affected by apprehen- sions with regard to the wages question. British Funds and -kindred stocks, after a moderate set-back have once again yielded to the influence of cheap money, and prices have resumed their upward course. Financial activity, however, has really been most pronounced in the matter of new Issues of Capital, most of which have met with a good response from the investor.
