The Journal des Debats, of Thursday, quotes a letter from

Algiers, of the 10th instant, which states that the body of an unknown Negro or Moor has been found in the ruins of the powder-magazine; and it is supposed that he may have de- voted himself to destruction in the fanatical attempt to destroy the French.
