Sir: I was heartened to read Jeffrey neri nard's tirade about the 'bloody nerve (,),1 the Maidstone Prison convict who stil' owes him £50 but had 'the gall' to be singing 'Abide With Me' on TV's Songs al Praise. Since most of this £50 was obviously th, £40 I lent Mr Bernard three years ago en' have not seen since, it is reassuring to lead that my money has found a secure hale under lock and key at Maidstone Prison. t Uncharitably I had long assumed rha my £40 had found its way into the NorMan Baton Pension Fund.
