THE QuEEN, the Prince Consort, and their children, quitted Buckingham Palace on Thursday afternoon for Osborne whither they arrived for the Whitsun holidays about half past six in the evening. Before her Ma- jesty left London the Earl of Derby had an audience.
Early in the week the news of the death of the Duchess of Orleans reached the Queen, and the Prince Consort immediately went to Rich- mond and paid a visit of condolence to the Count of Paris and the Duke de Chartres. On Wednesday the Queen and the Prince paid a similar visit to the Duke and Duchess d'Aumale and the two orphan princes at Twickenham. The late Duchess was -a first cousin once removed of the Prince Consort.
