Open letters

Sir: Bruce Anderson is right to identify the Financial Times as an advocate of the euro, but quite wrong in his other remarks about the paper (Politics, 15 November). Our let- ters column, far from suppressing anti- EMU views, has published numerous let- ters taking aim at monetary union from all angles in recent months.

As for Ruth Lea, she has graced our columns no fewer than three times since late August, and we published another let- ter on EMU from her colleague Stephen Davies on 25 September. Pace Bruce Anderson, we continue to believe in diver- sity of debate — and that includes opening our letters column to new voices.
