SIR,-- Far he it from me to take sides in

the 'battle' between the gentleman from Suffolk and Lilian Knapp and Claire Rayner, but is it not a fact that this same gentleman himself refuses to be tagged, styled or titled?. As I understand it, as the son of a baroness, he should be known as the Honour- able Randolph Spencer Churchill.

If it is so important to Churchill (Hon. or Mr.) that the above-mentioned ladies be either Miss or Mrs. I am sure we should like this gentleman's own position clarified personally: should we address hint as Mister, or the Honourable, or should we address this Very Important Personage, humbly, as Sir, and if in his august presence when the audience is over, when retreating backwards, remember to bow slowly?

I should await with bated breath the outburst of indignation from the Olympian heights of East Bergholt.
