A CHAIRMAN of my acquaintance is in rehearsal for the shareholders' meeting. He expects to be asked why some members of the staff have been paid colossal bonuses. He will then say: 'Because they are a bunch of greedy and disloyal sods, and if we didn't pay up, they'd be off.' I look forward to it.
