The agitation of a Ministry of Food official over the
lacteal element in the famous Bristol Milk sherry recalls the case of a rigidly teetotal visitor to a Cambridge college who was asked if he would take milk punch. That was obviously just his line, and he answered gratefully that he would. After a draught dccp and lone he beamed genially on the company and affirmed with emphasis " some cow."
