Above all, humourless

Sir: Now that the author of 'Afore Ye Go' has successfully demonstrated his ability to write a boring, pompous and, above all, humourless column, could he be persuaded to try another style? The rest of the mag- azine is so enormously readable that it seems a pity to spoil it with the common- place rubbish of Wallace Arnold.
