Sm,—The Minister has affirmed that our food amounts to 2,800 calories per day. Can any of your readers explain for ignoramuses, such as the writer, how this figure is arrived at ? Is it accepted ? If those who live on their rations, plus some fish and vegetables, get these 2,800 calories, presumably those who can and do get meals at restaurants and canteens do much better. Is that correct ? One hears of folk who get all meals at restaurants and give their rations away. If that is correct, is it fair
