There is a letter in town from Captain GLasscocx, of
the Orestes, now stationed off Oporto, which mentions that the Miguelites made an attack upon the city on the 4th instant, but were repulsed by the garrison with a loss of 600 men. This is the same affair which was said to have been commenced by a tortie from the garrison.
No information has yet reached the Admiralty from Oporto of a later date than the evening of the 4th inst.
A vessel which passed Oporto on the 10th, kilns intelligence that the wea- ther was moderating, and there was a possibility of landing provisions ; but Allover. had erected batteries which almost command the landing-place.
