SIR.--While one may have many reservations about the angle of

the attack, it is surely only just to admit the basic truth of Leavis's criticism of Snow's work as a novelist and populariser of ideas. The cries of indignation with which you filled last week's Spectator are merely an indication that Leavis has hit his target. One wonders why the attack has been so long delayed.
