Y Byd and Y Ddysgl
Sir: Jilly Allenby-Ryan (Letters, 16 May), in the latest addition to a discussion on eating in those parts, claims that Le Monde is not the only good restaurant around the Welsh capital, but that Le Cassoulet is also worth trying.
Are these the restaurants I used to know as Y Byd and Y Ddysgl, before (along with decimalisation, metrication and homogeni- sation) Glamorganshire abandoned Welsh and became monoglot French-speaking?
I remember the titter that went round one evening when a visiting Englishman, wishing to show off in front of his girl- friend, ordered `cil-dwrn cynwysedig' from the bottom of the menu.
