Sir: Dr Bazarov's case against Mr Burg and Mr Feifer
(Letters, September 9) is hardly strengthened by personal rudeness. His belief that Burg and Feifer wrongly interpreted one event two years ago is not sufficient evidence to prove — as he seems to think — that they have not carefully prepared the Solzhenitsyn biography. We as publishers are convinced that they have carried out detailed research, and checked their sources in every way possible. At least Dr Bazarov might do Mr Burg and Mr Feifer the courtesy of reading the biography before he so severely criticises it.
