WHY KHRUSHCHEV?

Sia,—Mr, Randolph Churchill is guilty of philo- logical inexactitude—if he will pardon the phrase—

in a column commendably dedicated to putting other reporters right. Why should so sturdy a champion of minority views meekly conform to the misinformed majority

and spell it: KHRUSHCHEV? Experts in languages —English and Russian—insist that it ought properly to be KHRUSHCHOV. Our evening papers have used that spelling for years and come to no harm.

Mr. Churchill would assuredly scoff at the perverse and wilful ignorance of any Russian journalist who dubbed him son of SUR WENSTUN CHERCHELL!
