THE ‘ITTELF, DE PARIS.'

(To THE EDITOR OF THE " SPECTATOR.") SIR, —The Ville de Paris,' captured by Rodney in 1782, foundered in that tremendous gale which wrecked so many of the prizes on their way to England five months later. I did not remember that her name had been given to a ship then on the stocks in one of our dockyards ; but if that was the case, the ship mentioned at p. 183 of the Spectator must have been the one alluded to, which was broken up in 1805.—I am, Sir, &c., Wing Rectory, Oakham, August 21st.
