SIR,—I am indebted to Mr. Derek Hudson for correcting, in your issue of August 17, a faulty answer to one of my 'Holiday Ques- tions.' I can but plead in defence that my statement that the author of the German trans- lation of 'Jabberwocky' was probably Lewis Carroll himself was made on no less an authority than that of Mr, Allan M. Laing.
