The French way

Sir: There is nothing like the British "stream of filth " in France (Letters, January 27) only because a repressive French society will not permit it, and jails its publishers.

The French are more immature than the British since they're not allowed to choose their own masturbatory material — let alone progress to the ' real ' thing.

As for French girls, they have a terrible reputation in England for being excessively bourgeoise — for being born middle-age — for having as their essential interests in life money and marriage essentially interwined.
