Aladdin from a lamp could raise whatever he pleased, and M. Ostrowsky, a French dramatist with a Polish name, has raised a piece Out of the famous lamp of Sir Humphry Davy. La Lampe de DaoY, brought out at the Odeon last Monday, is a love-story, in which our illus- trious countryman is the hero, and it is love which impels him to the invention of the lamp. Sir Umphry-as our allies call him-appears in fact as a Quentin Matsys of chemistry.
