Melodramatic vigour, strong situations, and ejaculations in very dubious French
and German, are the leading features of On Dangerous Ground, by Edith Stewart Drewry. (F. V. White.)—Lady Glen- Luna, the would-be murderess and social panther of the story, shows some originality in her designs against her invalid step-son, for instance, in causing an accident to the lift in which he is taken from one part of his house to another, and in throwing at his head, in the capacity of private secretary, a fascinating woman who is separated from her husband. Bat no other merit can be assigned to a very crude literary performance.
