The Trade Returns for the month of April were of
a fairly- encouraging character, especially when the quietude of international trade as a whole is considered. In fact, in this matter of slackness, of international trade, Great Britain seems to be faring more favourably than any other country. For the month of April our Imports expanded by £3,500,000 and our Exports by just over ,E2,000,900. Moreover, for the first four months of the current year our visible adverse trade balance of £81,000,000 is' about £14,000,000 better than for the same period of last year. -
