Hitler's hot air
Sir: Irfon Roberts and Michael McAllen (Letters, 17 October), like Frank Johnson, fight the corner for the pro-Munichites.
However, Irfon Roberts overlooks the fact that in 1938 the Germans had no air- craft capable of delivering a worthwhile bomb-load over Britain from their far-off airfields. It was only when Germany had occupied France and the Low Countries that their airfields were close enough for the Blitz. Michael McAllen should know that Hitler seldom spoke the truth.
