The Meadow Queen is a familiar introduction to the study

of Field Botany, for the use of children ; who are interested, by means of a well-devised story, interspersed with some simple and very pretty verses, in acquiring a knowledge of the structure, classification, properties, and poetical associations of different com- mon flowers. The substitution of a few drawings of flowers in- stead of the present embellishments, neat as they are, would have been an improvement : as it is, however, the juvenile students may readily supply themselves with living illustrations in their seasons.
