Sir: With regard to John Julius Norwich's comments on A History of the Crusades (21 March), I wish to inform you that at all times 'Liege' was written with an acute accent. It is only very recently, I think after World War ii, that this was changed into `Liege' with a grave accent, in order to accord it with the pronunciation.
