It has been brought to our attention that there were inaccuracies in the paragraph headed Hasle;Mere Estates' on page 194 of our 'ssue of August 11, which we wish to correct.
Morris Wigram Limited is a private bank founded in 1932 with head offices in Chesterfield Street, Mayfair The The profits of the bank nave shown substantial and sustained growth and cannot be des.cribed as being in any way volatile. An insignificant proportion of the bank's profit is earned from Special situations.
It was announced in the Financial Times on July 6 that 13 per 'Pent of the issued share capital of Haslemere Estates Limited had been acquired by Throgmorton Securities Limited (Morris Wigratt's holding company) and associates. These shares were purchased in the normal course of business and Morris Wigram have never considered reversing themselves into Haslemere Estates.
