Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, banker's man, Bank me a crisis whenever you can.
Nicholas Kaldor has sold us a pup.
He said they should never put Bank rate up. He said at a crisis it's always found That the wisest plan is to loose the pound. The Premier thought it extremely nice That Nicholas Kaldor should give him advice But the Chancellor thought, if he'd save his bacon, That advice should most certainly not be taken.
And, what between them, it well may.fall
That down will come Bank rate and sterling and all.
