Walter Howell and Israel Shipley, in gaol at Ipswich, under
sentence of death ihr the murder of James MFadden, a Policeman, were respited, last night, by a 'ivarnmt from the Home Office. William Howell, sentenced at the same time, was left for execution today.
A dangerous accident happened on the Newcastle and Darlington Railway, on Thursday morning, near the Fence-house station. A temporary piece of rail, laid :down for the passing of the train, at a part under repair, rose up, struck into the ,bottom of one of the carriages, and threw the train off the line. The engineer was GO badly hurt that he was not expected to recover.
