IN THE past few days, a new telephone fault developed
at the Spectator. Callers got a ringing tone when they dialled, but no answer. This was because there was no ring at our end. This fault has now been righted. Readers are reminded that they can win a valuable K2 telephone box by contributing their best (true) British Tele- com horror story by 7 August. Entries should be sent to: BT Horror Competition, The Spectator, 56 Doughty Street, London WC1, but it would be safer to deliver them (and all other correspondence) since we are now suffering from another postal strike and no post is arriving at our offices.
