MR. DEYLIN, M.P.
[To THE EDITOR Or THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—As the English Nonconformists have selected Mr. Devlin, M.P., as the orator to address them at Whitefield's Tabernacle, it is interesting to recall the speech made by the same gentleman when attending as a deputation the celebra- tion of the Manchester Martyrs' Day, at Philadelphia, in November, 1908, in which ho said: "I believe in the separa- tion of Ireland from England, until Ireland is as free as the air we breathe." And now we are told that Home Rule does not mean separation !—I am, Sir, &c., AN IRISH UNIONIST.
