A CHILD STORY.
[TO THE EDITOR OP THE " SPECTATOR.") Sire—The child-story embodied in the following lines is literally true, and happened exactly as narrated. The trans- position of play and prayer reminds one of Henry Vaughan's. saying, that children " by mere playing go to Heaven " :—
OF SUCH.
" On Baby pressed our fond demands : Sing " Jack and Jill " to please us I' But Baby folded saintly hands,
And said : No—" Zentle Zesus" I'
Sweet Angel!' cried adoring we s But that same night, in bed, When asked for Gentle Jesus,' he Gave Tack and Jill' instead."
