THE NAME'S THE SAME
SIR,—The Spectator did not reach me in Italy last week, so I missed Mr. Peter Forster's letter about my review of his novel.
He has misunderstood me. When I wrote of his 'respectable literary antecedents' 1 did not, of course, mean to suggest that he was related to any other literary Forsters, but simply to refer with some surprise to the fact, mentioned in the book's blurb, that he had written for such stylistically respectable papers as the Observer, the Financial Times, Time and Tide and the Spectator.—Yours faithfully,
ISABEL QUIGLY
