PROTECTING BROCCOLI One of the timely things that can be

done in the vegetable gardep is the protection of cauliflowers by breaking suitable leaves over the 'heads of the plants. This can be followed by taking a quantity of soil from the north side of the plants and heeling them over, The soil is banked on the southerly side of the row and the plants firmed in the ground when the task is completed.
