As we anticipated last week, it was announced on Monday

that Sir Rufus Isaacs had been appointed to succeed Lord Alverstone as Lord Chief Justice of England. Sir John Simon takes his place as Attorney-General, with a seat in the Cabinet, while Mr. Stanley Buckmaster, upon wbom a knight- hood has been conferred, becomes Solicitor-General.
