SIR,—Your correspondent P. B. Dannatt may go a step further. I have an engraving of an old picture called The Toilet. The lady depicted is not in the water-closet, nor at a wash-hand basin, but seated before her mirror. We are at the mercy today of the new 'refined' multitude.
