PRINCE RUPERT.
[TO TER EDITOR OF THE " SPROTATOR."] SIR,—May I point out a. trifling slip made by your reviewer in his very interesting article on "Rupert of the Rhine "? He writes of the Battle of Cheriton as if the Prince were answerable for that Royalist defeat; but, as a matter of fact, Rupert was far away from that disastrous field, which was lost and won only eight days after his splendid success at Newark.—I am, Sir, &c., HERBERT HAINES.
