The Bishop of Natal's trial at the Cape had begun

when the last mails left, and it was then going on. The Bishop had adopted the wisest course by simply putting in a protest against the juris- diction of the Court, from which, when the trial is decided against Lim, as it probably will be, he will, of course, appeal to the Privy Council.
