From Mr Roger Alton Sir: Amid all the guff in Stephen Glover's extraordinary farrago last week (Media studies, 19 February), one bizarre fact leaps off the page: he claims the Observer is referred to as 'the Ulster'. Well, not by me, not by our staff, not by anybody I know and not anybody I have even heard of ever. But if Mr Glover would like to tell me who they are, they are very welcome to come along to an editorial conference.
