Feast of fun

The locus classicus for mashed potato with sticky-up sausages is, of course, the Laurel and Hardy strip on the front page of the old Film Fun comic in the 1930s. This feast usually featured in the final frame, when the boys, temporarily solvent, could often be seen lighting large cigars with £5 notes.
