Mr. Frank Gillard writes to the Spectator to declare 'There is no plan for any fundamental change in the character of the Light Pro- gramme.. . . But its broadcasting day, now to be twenty and a half hours, will also include up to fifteen hours of entertainment music. . . .' How can anyone describe this as anything other than a fundamental change? Even after Mr. Gillard had put his case to them the Daily Express. Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and Daily Herald all headlined their story 'Pop around the Clock.' •
