WOMEN AND THE BAR.

Sin,—It may interest your readers to know that a recent law of the State of Victoria permits women to practise as barristers and solicitors ; and that a young woman, a B.A. and LL.B. of the Melbourne University, will in the course of about a year be entitled to claim admission to the Bar. She will subsequently choose whether she remains at the Bar or practises as a solicitor, the law permitting both, but circum- stances rendering the combination difficult.—I am, Sir, &c.,
