Psalm of Cecil

Sir: Mr Noel Malcolm tells us (Politics, 12 March) that in his constituency some 'little old ladies' will never vote for the Con- servatives while 'that man' (Mr Cecil Par- kinson) is in the Government.

I am afraid that I could be described as 'a little old lady' but I am absolutely delighted at the wonderful success story of Mr Cecil Parkinson. Every good wish for his con- tinued success. He is a very brave man.

I think Mr Malcolm's 'old ladies' should read their Bible (the King James version).
