Bishop Fisher believes that the great reform movements in Hinduism,

Mohammedanism and Buddhism to lx found in India to-day are part and parcel of the Christian- izing process. He sums up :- " The East must assimilate Christianity or be assimilated by it. It is one and the same thing in result. And by a series of reforma- tions the great religions of the East will in time leave off the shells of idolatry, superstition, immorality, and caste, and follow Christ— in their own Oriental way."
