The British Almanac and Companion for 1880 (the Stationers' Company)
supplies, as usual, an abundance of useful and interesting matter. The contents of the "Companion to the Almanac" are articles on "The Mint," "Cyprus," "The Temperance Refreshment- House Movement," " South Africa," "The Heliograph," "Thu Edu- cation of the Deaf and Dumb," "The Rating of Chronometers," "The Progrees of London," and "The London School Board," to- gether with the customary review of the architecture, art, science, &c., of the past year, a catalogue of Acts of Parliament, and an abstract of important legislation. The "Necrological Table" con- tains the name of one centenarian, the Rev. Frederick Boaclon, of North Stoueham.--Also published by the Stationers' Company, we have Gilbert's Clergyman's Almanac for 1880.
