We regret to see it stated in the Press that
Mr. Henry Ford entertains the idea of standing for the Presidency. Seven thousand agents for Ford cars throughout the United States have already received membership cards for the Dearborn " Ford for President " Club, and the slogan " We want Henry " is to be echoed throughout the Union. His chief appeal to the voters, we are told, is his plan to do away with the gold standard and base money on " units of energy." According to the correspondent of the Times, Mr. Ford wants to find a substitute for the gold standard, not for the reasons which have so often appealed to economists, but because he insists that the control of the world's gold is in the hands of Jewish bankers.
