Nap selection
MY FROG under the table at Chevening was right. Budget Day is booked for 20 March, so as not to interfere with the Cheltenham races, which are run in the previous week. Our new Chancellor has rightly abandoned his predecessor's persis- tent and pig-headed habit of trying to compete with (though not in) the Cham- pion Hurdle, my equally persistent and perfectly reasonable campaign of com- plaint has borne fruit. 1 congratulate Mr Major and hope that he will soon be my guest for a day at the races. I have a nap selection for him — trained by Mrs Pitman, winner this week of its third race in a row, and clearly the form horse: Cash Is King.
