Had these vile attacks not been made upon Lord Devonport
we should have had something to say further about his action in the matter of Lord Tullibardine's message. As it is, we can say nothing. Since the men's leaders have chosen to call for his blood, all that honest men can now do is to stand by Lord Devonport and refrain from criticism. While he is under the threat of would-be murderers his cause is the cause of all law-abiding men. It would be an insult to the Radical Press or the Labour Party to congratulate them on repudiating Mr. Tillett's infamous speech. We are sure the repudiation was sincere.
