Keep me posted
From Mr Nigel Tipple Sir: I was amused to read of Simon Heffer's problems with the Post Office (Diary, 20 July). As we live in the countryside, our mail does not arrive until 3 p.m., although this is largely because of the post lady's predilection for village gossip.
Under normal circumstances, this is of no real concern. However, some years ago I had a period of working from home, and thought that it might be helpful to receive the mail a little earlier. A letter was sent to the head of customer complaints and, somewhat remarkably, a response was received within 24 hours informing me that he would investigate the matter.
Seven years later, I am still waiting for the conclusion of his 'investigation'.
